FAQ - eSIM
What is an eSIM and which devices can use it?
An eSIM is an electronic SIM card built into your phone, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card and enabling it to be used by scanning a QR code. It's supported by iPhone XS and later models, several Samsung Galaxy models, and Google Pixel phones. However, some iPhone or Samsung models purchased in Japan, China, Macau, and Hong Kong may not be able to use eSIM.
How do I install an eSIM or physical SIM?
-
eSIM:
After completing payment, you will receive a QR code via email. Please follow the instructions on the product page to install the eSIM using Wi-Fi or mobile data. Generally, the eSIM validity period begins upon activation, so it is recommended to install it on the day of departure to avoid wasting days of usage. - Physical SIM:
The SIM card will be delivered to you by the logistics company. Upon receipt, insert it into SIM card slot 1 (if your device has dual slots), set it as the mobile data source, and enable roaming. Some plans will automatically activate when you first turn on your device to access the internet. For additional settings, please refer to the instructions included with Aviro.
What should I do if there is a problem activating eSIM?
If the installation fails or you can't access the internet after scanning the QR code, please confirm that you are connected to Wi-Fi and follow the instructions. If the problem persists, you can contact Aviro via live chat. If you are overseas, we recommend finding Wi-Fi at the airport or hotel and then contacting them.
Can eSIM be used with a local Taiwanese SIM card?
Yes! You can keep your local SIM card for incoming calls and text messages, and use the Aviro eSIM card for internet access.
Please enable roaming before leaving Taiwan and turn off the "Allow mobile data switching" function to prevent your device from automatically using the local SIM card's data, which may result in high roaming charges or signal interference.
Can eSIM share Wi-Fi hotspots?
Most Aviro eSIMs support hotspot sharing, but some plans may not be able to share the network due to restrictions of the cooperating carrier or device.
Please read the plan page carefully or contact customer service to confirm whether the hotspot function is supported.
I accidentally deleted my eSIM. Can I reinstall it?
An eSIM can only be used once. If you delete the QR code, it will no longer work. If you need to continue using it, you will need to purchase a new eSIM.
It is recommended to delete it only when you are sure it is no longer needed.
Can non-mobile devices use Avro (Aviro) eSIM?
This depends on whether the LTE frequency band of the device matches the frequency band of the destination country. The following are the mainstream frequency bands in some regions:
- North America: 700, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz
- Europe: 800, 1800, 2600 MHz
- Asia: 1800, 2600 MHz
- Australia: 1800 MHz
- Taiwan: 700, 900, 1800 MHz
If the device supports multiple frequency bands, it may be suitable for international travel. If the device is not a mobile phone and also has a built-in physical SIM card slot, please contact customer service to confirm whether it supports eSIM and roaming.
FAQ - Physical SIM Card
Does the physical SIM card support calls and text messages?

Please read the product description before purchasing to confirm whether the calling function is included.
What should I do if my physical SIM card is lost or damaged?
If your SIM card is lost or damaged while travelling, please contact Aviro immediately.
- If the card has not been used and is still within the validity period, the company may provide a reissue, exchange or refund.

Does the physical SIM card support hotspot sharing?
support!
Physical SIM cards can usually share the internet with laptops, tablets, or other mobile phones, but it is recommended to confirm the product information or ask customer service to confirm whether this function is included.
How can I check the remaining data on my eSIM or physical SIM card?
-
iOS (iPhone):
Settings > Mobile Data (or "Mobile Services") > Scroll to "Current Roaming Usage" to display the total data usage. - Android (such as Samsung, Vivo):
Settings > Connections or Mobile Networks > Scroll to "Data Usage" to view.
If you want to check the daily remaining capacity, you can contact Aviro customer service for assistance.
What is the validity period of a physical SIM card?
Depending on the plan, the SIM card is usually valid until December 31 of the current year, making it suitable for long-term and multiple use needs.
The validity period of the SIM card starts from the first time it is inserted and activated. It is recommended to insert it before arriving at the destination or departure to save data.
Can I renew my physical SIM card?
